Compliance Specialist

As the Compliance Specialist, you will implement, and oversee compliance with required protocols, regulations, and laws such as research protections and integrity, conflicts of interest, contract compliance and grant compliance. This position works with and trains various corporate and campus team members in all departments to monitor and ensure the departments comply with all local, state and federal laws and regulations and are prepared for any changes in regulations when they occur.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review federal and state requirements, research protocols, and other government, local, and company mandates to ensure that the Company and its employees are in compliance with these regulations;
  • Responsible for submissions to TWC and COE as part of the education team that prepares, reviews and submits new program applications, program revisions, annual reports, etc.;
  • Coordinate the Department of Labor reporting;
  • Clery Act Reporting;
  • Share IPEDS key holder status with the VP of Education;
  • Participate in TDLR communications/ reporting;
  • Monitor schools’ compliance with outcomes;
  • Ensure that all existing SOPs and policy statements are reviewed annually;
  • Update procedures and policies to ensure fulfillment of current and new regulatory obligations;
  • Develop, conduct, and maintain mandated training and education programs;
  • Develop and maintain training tools, including worksheets, scripts, templates, databases and reports;
  • Identify training opportunities, evaluate trends, conduct online webinars and manage the online learning management systems;
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to administration, faculty, staff, and students in area of expertise;
  • Conduct investigations and/or routine monitoring for program compliance and/or in response to reports of non-compliance or concerns;
  • Respond to notifications of unsafe conditions, contract non-compliance, or other discrepancies and report findings to compliance committees, administration, federal agencies and/or other mandated entities, as required and/or appropriate;
  • Consult and interact with other institutions, federal agencies and other entities outside of the Company to discuss best practices, compliance concerns, or regulation interpretation;
  • Provide technical and administrative direction on all safety and health policies and programs;
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Job Requirements

Position Requirements

Successful candidates will have: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required;
  • 1-3 years of experience in the field of compliance, preferably related to post-secondary educational institutions;
  • Strong understanding of regulatory procedures and compliance;
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of curriculum and graduation requirements.
